The encounter

A dog kennel business from Norway posted a job in freelancer.com website. The client need 2 logos, one for his dog kennel business logo and another one is for his dog kennel consulting business both name “ Fenrirstaff ” and ” Fenrirstaff Consult ” respectively.

The brief

The client described both logos need to be:

i.) Norse-mythology

ii.) Should contain the same expression.

iii.) Should be clearly stated that there are the same business only targeted to different customer groups.

The angel is as photo attached below:

Artistic freedom is welcome however the client needs the black patch on the dog’s eyes as shown on the photo.

The sketches

Random sketches attempt to achieve the Norse-mythology, do not have a clear direction yet.

The concept

Mjölnir (Thor’s hammer)

I wanted to project kennel as a place of security and protection for dogs, in Norse mythology, Thor’s hammer is one of the symbol for “Protection” hence I decided to include part of the Mjölnir element in the logo.

Fenrirstaff logo created in Norse mythology style with simple shapes and lines for better viewing if scaled down.

Choice of color

To intereact with animals especially man’s best friend, we need to have the heart of caring and patience. I decided to use red color for the FENRIRSTAFF logo because red color symbolized “Love” and “Passion”.

Fenristaff consult logo, I wanted to show “Experience” through the logo, so I added lines on the dog’s face as “Wrinkles” to indicate “Seniority” or “Someone who have experience over time”.

Choice of color

To be a consultant, one shall know how things work and who had experience. Therefore, I decided to use gold color for the FENRIRSTAFF CONSULT logo because gold color symbolized “Status” and “Achievements”.
